Circulation Policies

General Policies
-
Children may borrow up to 10 items at a time. (Two on one
subject)

There is a limit of 10 magazines per patron.

Items may be renewed twice.
-
No renewals on videos, DVDs, CDs, CD-ROMs,
puppets, magazines, and items on hold.

Overdue fines are $.05 per item per day unless
otherwise noted.

Patrons must have their library card present to
check out library materials.
-
Available holds can only be held for individuals for
one (1) week.
-
When picking up available holds, the card the hold was
placed on is the card that must be presented.
-
Patrons may not use library cards other than their
own.
-
Public library cards are to be used in public
libraries and school cards in school libraries ONLY.

Patrons may return materials borrowed from this
library to any SAILS library, with the exception of museum passes which must be returned here.

All patrons under the age of 18 yrs. must have a
Parental Permission Form filled out and signed to use the
internet. Parent/Legal Guardian and minor must be present to
sign form. "We reserve the right to ask for identification, to
confirm age."

Audiovisual Materials & Puppets:
-
Please REWIND video cassettes for the
convenience of the next user.

4 video cassettes, 3 DVDs, 2 CDs, and 2 CD-ROMs at a time may be
borrowed by patrons over the age of 13.
-
There is a limit of 4 videos per cardholder
and 8 videos per family at a
time, being that the limit for DVDs is 3 at a time.
-
There is a limit of 1 puppet per patron at a
time.
-
The overdue fine on audiovisual materials and
puppets
is
$.25 per item, per day.
-
Audiovisual materials may not be returned in the
book drop. There is a $1 fine for doing so.
-
Library staff does not censor videos to minors.
-
The library is not responsible for damages that
may occur to equipment in the playing of library audiovisual
material.

Registration Policies:

Library cards will be issued to any Massachusetts resident.
-
Patrons must have identification and/or proof of residence with them at the time of application.
-
Children under 13 must have a parent or legal guardian present to register.
-
Children must be able to write or print their name by themselves to apply for a
library card.

The first library card is free. Replacements cost $1.00 for card and barcode; $.50 for barcode
only.

Book Drop:
-
There is a book drop located at the front lower
level entrance.
-
The book drop is for your convenience and is to
be used at your own risk.
-
There is a $1.00 fine for placing audiovisual
materials in the book drop.

Please use the book drop only when the library
is closed. Thank you.
