Attleboro Public Library

   PATRON POLICY

Welcome to the Attleboro Public Library. We think you will enjoy the many services we have available. In order to ensure that all of our patrons have a pleasant experience the Board of Library Trustees have established the following regulations:
 

    1. Eating or drinking in the public service areas of the library is not permitted.

    2. No animals, except for assistive animals and educational exhibits, will be permitted
         in the library.

    3. Bicycles and sports equipment may not be brought into the library.

   4. Appropriate attire, including shirts and shoes, must be worn at all times.

   5. Loud and boisterous behavior is prohibited.

   6. Physical, verbal or any other form of harassment of staff or patrons will not be
       tolerated. This includes the intentional displaying of pornographic pictures from
       the Internet on a computer in the library.

    7. Radios or tape players with or without headphones, are not to be used in the library.

    8. Cell phones are to be turned off before coming in to the library

    9. The library is not responsible for personal belongings left unattended by patrons.

   10. Those who damage or deface library property will be prosecuted.

   11. Patrons may be required to leave the library if their personal hygiene interferes with
         the orderly operation of the library or with the ability of other patrons to use and enjoy the facility.

   12. Parents are responsible for the behavior of their children while in the library.
        Children aged six or under may not be left unattended.

   13. Patrons may not canvas, solicit, or distribute leaflets in the library.

   14. The number of people allowed in the public lavatory is restricted to prevent
         overcrowding or loitering in these facilities.

   15. Patrons are reminded that it is against the law to indulge in intoxicating
         liquors, drugs or tobacco in this library.

    Any violations of the regulations may result in suspension or revocation of your library privileges.
