The Children's Section serves infants through eighth graders with a variety of programs, books, audio books, music CDs, book kits, puzzles, toys, pop-up books, magazines, encyclopedias and reference resources.

Dancing the Blues Away

It might have been cold outside, but that didn't stop children from
having some wintertime fun
at the library as they rocked and rolled
to the music of Mikey Maestro's Dance Party.

Music, dancing and games galore kept everyone up on their feet at
the Mikey Maestro Dance Party.

Mardi Gras Parade       Mardi Gras King    
Mardi Gras Parade

Children wait with anticipation for the arrival of "King Rex," the
traditional symbol of the Fat Tuesday celebration. Children designed
their own Mardi Gras crowns to wear in the parade.

      Return of the King

The beneficent ruler of Mardi Gras, "King Rex," waves to his subjects
from the library balcony. The King threw candy and jewelery to his
admirers, then invited everyone in for a traditional treat of "King Cake."
