Friends of the Fall River Public Library


FRIENDS of the Fall River Public Library, Inc, is a non-profit charitable organization of more than 300 citizens who have been working together since 1973 to help the Fall River Public Library serve the community.

Our Record of Service: Sponsorship of special programs: book sales, lecture series, and cultural events; contributions of books, equipment; and publicizing and supporting library needs.

On Being a Friend: Goals of the Friends are to focus public attention on the Fall River Public Library; to stimulate the use of its resources and services; to encourage gifts, endowments, and bequests; and to cooperate in developing library services and facilities in the Fall River community.

Benefits of Membership: Free admission to all Friends-sponsored special events; invitation to the annual meeting and reception; receipt of mailings containing information and notice of events of special interest to library supporters; Friends early entrance to Book Sale and satisfaction of being involved in a community service.

It's Easy to Become a Member or Renew Membership: Anyone interested in our goals may become a member. If you have printing capabilities, simply print out the membership form, complete it, and mail it along with your annual dues to: Friends of the Fall River Public Library, Inc, 104 North Main Street, Fall River, MA 02720. Or you can pick up a membership form during library hours.


FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY BOOK BAGS

Book Bag

The Friends of the Library are now selling library book bags for $12. These sturdy, water-resistant canvas bags are blue with black trim bookand have an image of the library on the front. With a front zipped pocket, they are approximately 16" x 14", large enough to hold lots of books, DVDs, CDs, notebooks, a laptop ... anything you'll need for a trip to the library (or anywhere else). Support your library and carry your essentials in style!

Also available for purchase from the Friends of the Library is the book A History of the Fall River Public Library, 1861-1999. If you've ever wondered how our historic library came to be and how it has changed over the years, this book will answer all your questions. It sells for $2, but is only $1 with the purchase of a book bag.

All funds raised from the sale of books and book bags go to benefit the library.
