Come try out our new catalog called, e-catalog Enterprise. We’re currently calling it beta. What does that mean? Searching and My Account work fine but there are things being tweaked as we find them not working as we want them to. If you notice something odd, have patience and know that it should be fixed by the time we go live.
The following are features to look out for:
- Book lists – the new book lists are not working correctly, but the NYTimes best sellers are
- Databases – we can directly search the Gale “General OneFile” database, just as you would search the catalog. Use the drop-down list or after you perform a search, click on “Database Search” on the left above “Limit Search Results”.
- Portuguese language option – still being worked on, but take a look. Select your language up at the top of the site.
- **My Lists - When logging into Enterprise (e-catalog beta) for the first time, the My List from e-Library will be migrated over to Enterprise. This happens once and then the Enterprise library my list will be that active list. So if you go back to e-catalog and add to lists there, they won’t become active in Enterprise.
When will Enterprise be the default catalog?
Once we get all the logins set up for each public library and find that everything is working as it should be, we will let libraries know and then send out the links for them to use at their OPAC stations in the library.
When will e-catalog go away?
We will have both versions running for several months. It’s going to take us some time to get everything set up for all of our different libraries.
