    Link Builder

SAILS sends out emails telling some of the new titles in the system that match your favorite subjects. Since the bibliographic record must have your favorite subject as the first subject listed, many new titles aren't reported. What it does is give you a reminder to log into iBistro and do your own search.

Since no one likes to waste time performing the same search every week, we've created the SAILS Link Builder.
If you create a search for the keyword phrase: videodisc or videodiscs
This is the link that will be built:
    http://opac.sailsinc.org/uhtbin/cgisirsi/x/0/0/5?searchdata1=videodisc%20%or%20%videodiscs&srchfield1=GENERAL&user_id=XXXXXXXXX&password=XXXX
You can replace the XXXX's with your user id (barcode) and password (PIN). Then you won't have to log in each time you want to place a hold.

The next step is to figure out what to do with the link. If you have MyYahoo, or similar type of configurable home page, you can add the entire link as a bookmark and call it "Film Search". You could add the link as a traditional bookmark in your browser, or get really fancy and put the link on a webpage."

    Library Lookup Link

ISBN Library Lookup - works with Amazon.com or Barnes & Noble. Will open link to catalog in a popup window.
Keyword Library Lookup - highlight a word on a webpage, click on the shortcut and you'll execute a search for that word in the SAILS catalog. You can also use this as a shortcut to type in your keyword search.

    1. Right click on one of the "Library Lookup" links above and left click on "Add to Favorites"
    2. When prompted, say yes to continue and allow the possibly harmful link
    3. Save the new favorite in the Links folder.
Note: You should see a button appear on your toolbar called Library Lookup. If it doesn't go to View > Toolbars and make sure you're set to view the links toolbar.
    4. Depending on which link you're using, either go to a website and highlight the word you want to look up in the SAILS catalog, or go to amazon.com and be on a page which gives the isbn of a title.
    5. Click the "Library Lookup" shortcut you created in step 1
