Directions to West Bridgewater Public Library

From the North: From Rte. 128 take Rte. 24 South to exit 16A.
Follow Rte. 106 East for approximately 1.6 miles. At blinking yellow light turn left onto Howard Street (after the Middle/Senior High School). Follow curve to right, pass two houses. The WBPL is the tan brick building on the right, 80 Howard Street. Parking is available in the front lot or on the side of the building.

From the South: From Rte. 495 take Exit 7 for Rte. 24 North. From Rte. 24 North take Exit 16A. Follow route 106 East for approximately 1.6 miles. Then follow second part of directions for "From the North."

From the West: Follow Rte. 106 East. Turn left onto Howard Street (right after the Middle /Senior High School); then follow second part of directions for "From the North."

From the South East: Take Rte. 28 North from Bridgewater to Rte. 106 West.
Turn left and follow Rte. 106 West one block and pass the Police/Fire station to blinking yellow light. Turn right onto Howard Street. Then follow second part of directions for "From the North."

From the East: Take Rte.18 South to Rte. 106 West. Continue past intersection of Rtes. 106 and 28 at lights and proceed past WB Police/Fire station to blinking yellow light. Turn right onto Howard Street. Then follow second part of directions for "From the North."

West Bridgewater Public Library Locations

1879 to the Present

	March 1879-November 11, 1881: Library was located in a room in the post office.
	November 12, 1881-December 18, 1908: Library was located in a room in the Howard Seminary building.
	December 19, 1908-September 30, 1962: Library was located at the former Center Primary School on West Center St. (now the Kenwood Tire Company building on S Main St).
	October 1, 1962- May 1, 1990: Library was located in a two story library building attached to the west side of the West Bridgewater High School.
	May 2, 1990 to Present: Library is located at new building at 80 Howard Street.

There was a North Elm Street District Branch (Elmville) run by Mrs. Prescott Snell that started in 1913 that was quite successful. It was maintained as a circulating library. Mrs. Snell ran the Elmville branch on record in 1925 and continued to be operating in 1933.
