The Jonathan Bourne Public Library seeks an energetic, friendly, Information Systems Librarian to join our team who will be responsible for developing and implementing technology services for the library. This person will maintain and troubleshoot staff and public computer workstations and related equipment, assist in developing the library’s technology plan, coordinate staff and patron training, act as liaison with the CLAMS Network, assist with maintaining the library website and other social platforms, keep up with the latest technologies as they may relate to a public library setting, and takes regular shifts on the public service desks. The ISL also takes the lead on reference and information requests from patrons and staff. Position works one evening a week and alternating Fridays and Saturdays.


MLS from an ALA accredited school required. Two years of public library experience working in an automated library. Successful candidate will have knowledge of contemporary technological issues and trends, experience with website design and social media, ability to communicate technical information to non-technical staff and the public and the ability to work independently and to solve problems. Candidate should be able to show adaptability and dependability and be able to work well in a team situation and flexibility in emergency staffing situations. In exceptional instances, specialized education, training and/or experience may be substituted for part or all of the required elements.

Education Required: MLS/Masters

Salary: $48,412 to 57,844 in 9 steps
