We will be hosting our 1st annual Welcome to Mansfield 101 open house on October 23.  The library sent out postcards to new residents inviting them to the library to receive a library card and a tour of the library.  Other town departments and local community groups were invited to have a table to share…

STEM Kits: Facilitating Hands-on Learning

November 15, 2019

The Raynham Public Library created over 30 STEM kits with funds from an LSTA grant.  Each kit allows users the chance to explore science, math, technology, or engineering in a hands-on, fun way.  The purpose of the kits is to give kids an opportunity to learn by doing and playing, and to foster interest in…

Scanning Grants

October 2, 2018

FYI - The digitizing grant program is still available from the BPL.  Here is the link to the grant form. Scanning Grant Request Someone from the Digital Services department at the BPL should be in touch after you submit the grant.  We are not sure how long that process takes.

Missing Items w/ Holds

March 11, 2022

A standard report for getting the information on unfillable holds is almost impossible. The problem with the one we had in workflows is that it would only report titles that had one copy on the record. It wouldn't show titles that had 2 missing copies, or 41 available copies and one missing. Just titles with one copy…

Holds for patrons – item in hand

March 17, 2021

Does this situation sound familiar? A patron calls to ask to put aside an item they "see" is on the shelf. You find the item, put it on hold for the patron, and immediately trap the hold for them. We've heard of a new problem that can happen with this scenario. If you don't select…

We Heard You! – Training for FY19

July 16, 2018

One comment we received a couple of times on our last survey was why the SAILS staff can’t come out to libraries and do onsite training, since staff can’t easily get to our offices. Well we love coming to libraries to train! There are many benefits doing training at the library. The main one is…

Post-it notes for damaged items

March 6, 2017

There seems to be some confusion about these post-it notes. On the line that says Lending Library enter the name of the library that was going to circulate it - not the owning library. 1. Using the standard post-it note form supplied by SAILS record the type of damage, enter today’s date and circulating library.…

Problem Item Form

July 9, 2015

Thanks to Melissa Campbell for suggesting the use of this form for items being returned with a problem.   You may use this customizable form for when you check in an item and you need to alert the library where the item is headed that there is something wrong with it. Maybe it has a part missing or damaged and…
